I'm interested in what folks have come up with for Truck Caps on their 05+ Frontys. Here's one look I like (courtesy of SnugTop.) If you've got a cap, take a photo and post it here so we can all see how it looks!

Snug Top

Hi Everbody,

Here is a photo of my new Snug top. They have improved greatly in the 20 years since I last purchased one. I opted for the side sliding windows with screens so my Akita can travel with me. I shop online 6 local dealers and the best deal I found was $1200. installed. Most of the prices where within $40. So I went with the dealer with the sweet sounding sales girl. And yes she did look as good as she sounded on the phone!

Hey guys, I ran into a guy who had one of these:

http://www.tuk-it.com/gallery.htm

from a company out of Canada. They're retractlable, canvas caps with a locking rear (glass) window. It folds back up into the housing at the front of the bed in less than 30 seconds, and only requires three holes per side. I'm game for this one if they have our Frontiers fitted. He had his on a full-sized Ford F-150 and said it was half the cost of a fiberglass shell. Versitale too! I've emailed them as well, and will post any answer I get when I get it.

I'm not a big fan of the cap, but I love your Akita! My dog rides in the back seat with my son. The dog (German shepherd Chow mix - we call him a Chowerkarut) is bigger than the boy still :D

Because then we would be paying for all that seating and other crap we would just need to rip out.

I will be getting my shell in about an hour, and my reason is so I can sleep in the back on my many travels. An auto-inflating mattress and an ice chest and I'm good for days. Yea, it's a little short, that's why mathmaticians created angles.

Also, it is rather easy to pull the shell off. Try doing that with the *** end of a Pathfinder or Xterra.

And last but not least, price difference.

Binford,

Over in the UK this pick up carries less personel tax than a car as it is classed as a commercial vehicle, saving me about £3000.00 a year in tax, it is also a full five seater with a huge boot, my dogs love it as I have it kitted out with a Bedrug, as I'm a fish merchant I can also carry fish and wash the back out or take the top off and carry awkward size loads, for me it has to be the most practical solution out there.

Which cap did you get, I've been completely unable to find a pic of a KC with a cap. Also, have you found an air mattress that fits well yet?

Thanks so much,

Here's a pic of my new shell. It is a Vision which is a generic name for a FastTop shell made in SoCal. It came with an interior light and headliner, I chose blue. And of course the obligatory third brake light.
