So, out on San Rafael desert here in central utah...

..current sat view doesn't show any water... uhh...

we take inner-tubes and put big straps around them, throw our friends on the tubes, run 50ft ropes from them to the truck and drive like a blind maniac with his foot to the floor...

wooo dawwgy it's a blast...

Last weekend we brought my frontier out instead of my rodeo, we also took a hood with us from a mazdaspeed3, my buddy put a carbon fiber hood on, so we made use of his old stock hood... makes a great sled, ANYWAYS...

The truck did pretty well on the ice, was quite alright to control, wasn't as easy to turn the steering wheel rapidly, just doesn't have the power steering like the rodeo, the only thing that really worried me was that the ABLS/fake limited slip constantly was actuating the brakes and I had no way to disable it, so I gave the truck a lot of cool-down rests between runs.

Is there a way to modify a switch into my truck to allow an "on the fly" ABS disable ?

Thanks guys!

Maybe I'll have some video and pics soon of last weekend!

Yeah, a few have done it. Here is the write up on how to do it with pictures.
From what I understand, the switch will disable your ABS, which kills the ABLS. Not sure there is just a way to kill ABLS only, but this would work well.

Is that what you were looking for?

just a heads up, the ABLS system utilizes temp sensors at the brakes. if the temp of the brakes gets over a curtain limit the ABLS stops functioning on that wheel so that you don't over heat your brakes which would cause excessive wear and rotor warping. so if that is your main concern your in the clear their. if you still want it gone check out the link that was posted by glacier and if you have any questions on it just hit me with a pm.

ah hells, you guys rock. Thanks for the information. Yes there's the VDC disable button, but that just disabled the "traction control" (that button stops the ABLS/ABS/whatever computer from cutting off my throttle when the wheels slip)... no matter what, ABLS is constatly functioning unless I'm in 4LO... I don't want to be full throttling my truck in 4LO, haha. . . Anyhow, that mod looks like it'll do the trick. It's good to know that it has over-temp sensors in the brake system, very nice!.

thanks!
