So i bought my truck used. a few months back. The dealer did an oil change when I bought it. So this was the first time I did it myself.

well, first, the access door cut the hell out of my arm, so I was going to take the skid plate off. What a mess, first the 2 bolts were stripped out, and then the plate is held on with plastic rivits, is that stock? Why would they use plastic rivits, seems asine? Oh, and about half are plastic rivits, the other half is the kind of connectors where the center pops off, and are re-usable.

well, i want to use the re-usable ones. Does anyone have a part number for them? I want to take off the rivits, and replace them while taping out the stripped bolt.

so, where to get those re-usable connectors

i have a 2010. my skid plate is held on by bolts. no plastic rivits.

should be steel screws. my 06 has screws. there are a couple under plastic caps where the skid plate is behind the bumper.

that is odd, i poped one of the rivits out (the front side) and it has a square hole hole to where it connects to the bumper. The only bolts are the 2 stripped ones to the rear.
