I saw this truck YouTube - Sneakpeek_Indigen.mp4

and was wondering how mine would look if it were painted like this, can anyone good in photoshop provide some suggestions? Wheels should stay the way they are.

Here are pics of my truck:

I was also told by car paint-shops and a friend who wanted to do the same that painting a vehicle requires that it's disassembled to quite an extent and that its assembly once painted might suffer for example squeaking doors, etc. These were the words of Nissan's paint-shop, the guy actually told me that it's better getting a new vehicle instead of having a new one (3 years old) painted.

The problem with its current colour is that it's VERY hot during summer.

Thanks

I cant help at all on the photoshop but yes your truck will have to go through a disassembly process simular to the one mine has been through twice. Just make sure the shop you get to do the work is quality and will not cut corners on the reassembly. Alot of the clips are one time use and need to be replaced to avoid squeeks ect. Here is an example of what has to happen for a paint job. Also keep in mind that the truck you posted seams to have a flat clear or no clear. Flat clear is not cheap nor easy to apply. Trust me. Good luck :)

It will look like sh!t....just like the truck in the video. Now that is just my personal opinion; but, I am a professional designer as well as having designed the clip on that truck.
:thatswck:Is this "sand" colour that bad looking on our trucks?

A long time ago I had seen one painted olive drab and it was nice.

Well man, I just saw the color and was a little bummed, but did a quick photoshop. Its definitely not my color of choice for the hassle when there's so many other colors to choose from. But its your truck so if thats what you want then its all good. I guess it might look pretty cool if you live in the desert or something and kind of looks like a military vehicle. Anyways this photoshop isn't that great because that's a hard color to do. A flat color like that is hard to photoshop on to pictures that have reflections in the paint like that one. If you could get a better side picture that doesnt have any reflections in the paint from light or what not then I could do a better one. This should hopefully give you a general idea though.

Now I just need someone to help me out at this thread on a decision for my XE decal thats being made. http://www.clubfrontier.org/forums/f10/logos-vinyl-ideas-59152/

I actually kind of like the color as 5speed_Frontier photoshopped for you. I do not like any of the flat paint looks I have seen. it reminds too much of my young poor days when I had to drive in primer until I could afford to paint. I am not sure if the flat paint might not also be a safety issue.

The tan color might look pretty nice if the wheels were painted some color to either match or complement it. Black does not look well to me.

As usual, this is your truck so you should do whatever pleases you and not me. Good luck.

ive been quoted around 800 for my pathfinder. Not bad considering but still a bit high
well i read about a guy who did it himself and used less than 150 in materials for a car. the thing is they say your truck has to be real clean and the paint must be real smooth otherwise any speck will show up on the vinyl...

..you also have to remember that the quality of vinyls used nowadays can supposedly last for years and can be taken off without leaving a residue...

Thanks, I wasn't aware of the vinyl solution. I need to ask paint-shops whether they apply it, but my truck has scratches from branches & bushes not to mention careless drivers.

Seems like a steal. In another post somewhere here, vinyl was discussed with someone that does graphics vinyl designs. I think the number thrown out for a full wrap on a vehicle (with graphics) was in the neighborhood of $3500 (about the same as a custom paint job). I'll try to dig up the post in case anyone is curious.

Found the thread that discusses vehicle wraps.
