First vehicle I've had where finding a phone location is going to be tough. I ordered the vent magnetic and hoping it'll work, but since the vents are vertical I have a feeling it'll just pull the vents down, which won't be that bad. I had a cd player mount but my last car it broke my cd player, plus it sits way too high and I don't need a cop or everyone else seeing what I'm looking at.

I also want my phone to turn sideways. I ordered these and will see how it works on Thursday, but would love to see what you guys have.

Yeah, I need a solid mount. For the NORRA race , driving instructions come through the intercom via IPhone or IPad.
Really don’t want to make one.

Hi. I picked up a magnetic mount (similar to your link, with disc that adheres to the back of the phone case) from O'Reilly's. It had mounting holes and came with screws. I screwed it into the center console by my right leg, just past that little change holder or whatever it is. I'll post a picture later. It's pretty solid and I like the location, but I did have to put holes in the console to screw it in, so might not be for everyone.

double face tape wouldn't have worked? can you turn the phone horizontal without it falling?

The mount also came with double sided tape which I used while I was deciding whether or not I liked it in that spot, but I wanted it more secure than that. Yes, I can put it horizontal or vertical and it stays well. I will post pics in a bit.

I have a pop socket on my phone and the cradle in my car. It just snaps in and allows me to turn my phone 360* plus it’s low profile. It has worked flawlessly and only cost $20.

I have this one. Woks well. Stays in place except for some of the hardest 4 lo climbs.

I do not think it would work for Whistler. Get a ram mount style one. Some use them on motorcycles.

The vent mount types are not that strong. A moderate bump will knock it off. Imagine you would want it mounted to your cage.
