Another THANKS!

Thanks Again. this is second time

zero,

thx. i will keep a eye on it.

My airbag light started flashing again yesterday. Had it scanned by my coworker and it's the B1019 code again. Could be a number of things besides a bad seatbelt tensioner assembly. Light is turned off again for now.
Ok the code you gave me is for a passenger seat classification sensor. This code sets for one of several reasons. sensor malfunction (which they already replaced), wiring harness breakage or poor connection ( basically make sure all connectors are installed properly and are fitting snug and tight or the classification control unit it's self is malfunctioning.

I just added a BT microphone to my Pioneer Stereo

There is no need to take it to the stealership. Most will charge you to reset it. I recentally added the PAC Nissan AAI-NIS2 aux audio input and my airbag light was flashing after the install. I didn't read all the instructions completely before installing. The instructions clearly state to disconnect the battery. I didn't see any need for it until after I was finished. I started my vehicle and I had the airbag light indicator blinking. I did a quick google and found the solution without having to go to the dealer. I did a search on this forum and couldn't find a solution. Sorry if this is on this forum somewhere but I couldn't find it. Here is the reset method and it worked for my 2005 Frontier.

RESET METHOD:

If you have the airbag light blinking here is how to reset it:

1. Turn the key from off to on.

2. Watch the airbag light closely. It will stay on for a few secs. and then as soon as it blinks off (the start of the flashing), turn the key off instantly.

3. Count to 5 (1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi . . . .)

4. Repeat steps 1-3 two more times until you have done the cycle three times.

5. Now turn the key on and watch the light. It will start blinking in a different, slower manner. This is diagnostic mode. You can watch this for a little while, no hurry.

6. Now turn the key off again, Count to 5 like in step 3 again, and turn back on. If the procedure worked, the airbag light will not be flashing.

If it does not work the first time, just repeat the steps again.
This method worked great the second time around on my 2009 Frontier SE. The reason it two attempts (2 X 3 runs), I believe, is that you have to be quick when turning the key to Off, immediately after seeing the passenger air bag light go dark and count the full 5 seconds in between. a BIG THANK YOU to Thump for saving me some $$ and keeping away from Mr. Stealer.::grin::

04

yep....happened to me too. but mine was on because i turned the key on while the dash board was not all connected.(airbag light/key plugs), it is still on now for about 10 years of truck life. i took the cheap way and take the dash apart and covered the light with electical tape. not the solution i wanted but it did put the light out. last/worst case scenario

Good sticky

I installed a new radio one of my Christmas presents. And I forgot not to turn the truck on to do a ops ck of the new radio with the center panel off. I've been ignoring this airbag light for 8 months. Just noticed this sticky and got my airbag light off first attempt :) Dealer quoted me $50 and other places where saying $80-90 for just hooking up their diagnostic tool.

Thanks so much, made my day today.

The dealer replaced my front passenger side belt assembly tongue/pretension unit under warranty. Hopefully this fixes the issue of the light coming back on. I had the same B1019 trouble code as Zerosixle.

I have had the airbag light on since I bought my truck so I told myself that it would not hurt to try this. It worked!!! No more annoying flashing light. ::grin::

Looks like I've joined the club also... Starting yesterday the light began flashing, I've done the reset multiple times but here's the catch, once clearing the code any movement of the truck in gear or exiting/rocking it while idling or off with the key to "ON" causes the light to return.

Here are a few things I've tried right after clearing the light...
1. extending and retracting the seat belts while idling - no light tripped
2. cycling the steering wheel left to right while idling - no light tripped
3. adding and removing weight from the passenger seat while idling - no light tripped
Again, the only way I've found to cause the light to trip is any movement of the truck in gear or exiting/rocking it.

So far as I can tell I get "code 2", maybe it's "code 12"... One long pause followed by two quick flashes, looking online I found this means multiple things relating to the driver side airbag, clock-spring, or harness. Before I take it in to Nissan I'd like to know if anyone else has come across this problem of the light immediately returning after being cleared via the procedure mentioned here.

Here's a little background on the truck... Just rolled over 91k, new battery today, driven like a sports car everyday yet meticulously maintained, no collisions or off-road stunts in it's past and aside from this it's been fantastic.

Thanks for any input!

Mine came back on a few times within a few weeks I think before I finally had the dealer look at it. This was back in May and the light hadn't come back on since they replaced the belt tensioner unit.

After a friend of mine used his code reader today we found code "B1049", referring to the driver airbag as the light flashing codes led me to believe before. We both believed that the airbag itself going bad is rare and to try the next best thing, the spiral cable or clock spring. I got lucky and my local dealer had the assembly in stock so I picked it up this morning. P.S. it comes with the signal/wiper arms and I was told the clock spring can't be ordered as a stand alone. P.P.S. Remember to remove the steering sensor from the old part and attach to the new one. It's the flat round bit attached to the back of the clock spring.

A few words of caution, after picking up the part and because I'm a generally curious guy I went to the service department to see what they charge for the repair and to my absolute amazement it's 6 hours labor @ $185 an hour. As you can imagine I laughed at this and went home, granted I'm not one for documenting the job the but whole process took only 40 minutes with standard hand tools. Last night I watched a couple YouTube videos of a guy doing this on his Titan and I was confident I could tackle the job. So moral of the story if your airbag light is flashing, or possibly the horn or radio/cruise buttons quit just replace the clock spring.

I know CourtesyParts.com might have been a bit cheaper but I figured after shipping and the wait just picking up locally was the best option for me.

Hey guys
I tired the key trick serval times an still air bag light never went away. it been on roughly sence i had my fuel pump replaced. I have a code reader an i get a code for B1015 saying something about a battery interrupter igniter an was just curious as to the location on my 06 frontier so i can fix it myself instead of going to the stealership

My code reader is saying there isn't a B1015 code for Nissan? Has anybody messed with your radio recently/removed center dash panel that covers radio?

No It hasn't the only other thing that was replaced was my transmission cause the transmission cooler failed. But I talked to the stealership an the said it was something to do with the airbag control module. Half the time I don't believe what the say anyways.
