One more dumb question for the night, how do you take the wipers out to get the cowl off? I have never taken them off for anything before and didn't want to break anything trying.

Did your flares rattle or anything after you broke the clips? There are plenty of screws holding them on but they still seemed a little loose.

My flares rattled very little and it wasn't even noticeable. For taking the wiper arms off: At the base/pivot of the arm they have a little plastic cover that pops off and also very conveniently brakes easily. Pop the cover off and there is a nut on there. Pay attention on how you remove them as you you basically have to index them on there correctly when you re install, they have little splines.

I bought some Rancho RS5000's off Titansw6 and finished installing them today. The stockers had about 156k on them and were way past needing replacement. My truck feels like a different vehicle, so much better ride.

Crappy cell phone pictures...

They are the ones for 3" lift but I am at stock height. It appears to have better flex but maybe I'm just fooling myself since they are longer.

With AALs on my truck before and 3" lift shocks the shocks were acting as limit traps as the springs would extend much past the travel of the shock. I don't believe you are fooling yourself.

I have painted a few things recently and haven't gotten any pictures until now. Wheels were painted with Rustoleum black textured spray paint, all plastics and grille were painted with Krylon Fusion satin black. I would have preferred flat black for the plastics as the satin is a little too glossy for my taste but I couldn't find any flat black Krylon Fusion and I got impatient. It still turned out pretty good IMO.

Before

After

You can't really tell from the pictures but the wheels have a teflon-ish look to them in person and feel almost like very coarse sandpaper. I am very happy with how they turned out.

Yeah I have thought about it but I am still undecided. I think I am going to try to find one from a '00-01 xterra in a junkyard or something. They are already black and then I could possibly sell the chrome one and make a little money. I still don't know, though. Eventually I want a tube bumper but it looks like that will be waiting a while.

I peeled them off with fishing line and sanded the chrome off. Then sprayed them and put them back on with 3m double sided automotive tape. Took about 30 minutes total. I need to redo them but I don't really feel like going through the effort.

They were stock on my truck homie. Remember I had the first crew cab so I guess it had to be special in some other way. The little v6 logos on the C pillar were the same. You may be able to get them through nissan. I remember saving one set of letters because I wanted to stick them on my dash, I'll look for them next time I clean my garage.

I ordered this today Kenwood Excelon KDC-X794 CD receiver at Crutchfield Signature I got it off ebay for $168 as opposed to everywhere else I saw it for around $200. I have tested one of these receivers out in Circuit City before and really like the Ipod controls. The stereo I have in the truck now has been in every vehicle I have owned and is ready to be passed on to one of my friends. I didn't really plan on buying this today but I have money and it seemed like a good idea at the time. Lol.

I took the truck offroad for the first time in almost a year last weekend. I'm still waiting on pics from my buddy with the camera but we went to a local place with a ton of trails and followed a trail up to the top of a mountain. The truck did great and had zero trouble with any obstacles. My fiberglass antenna snapped in half due to a low tree branch but it has a lifetime warranty, so I just have to take it to the shop I bought it from and switch it out next time I go home.

I highly recommend that stereo for anyone looking for ipod capabilities. I have had it installed for two weeks and have zero complaints. Music sounds much better in the truck, even at highway speeds with the windows down.
