Passenger seat rattles

I have a new 2010 Frontier bought a month ago. The empty front passenger seat rattles when going over bumps. I brought it to the dealer who balanced the tires. This seemed to fix the problem, however the rattle is back. Could it be something else causing the problem, or would the tires go out of balance after only a week? Something is just not right and it's getting frustrating.

Mine is older then yours and mine does what your talking about. I hear many other complaining of the same thing too. I hate to say it.... It may be the nature of the beast.
Your issue is a fairly common one.
Not sure if there is a more current TSB but here's one covering your exact problem on the 2005 and 2006 model years:

The service bulletin describes my problem exactly. Now to take the truck to the dealer with a copy of the TSB is next. Thanks for your help.
My 2010 Pro-4X also rattles. I have the 4 way power, non-folding leather bucket. I noticed two locations of the rattle:

1). The seat belt buckle, if not properly secured, will rattle.
2). The second source of the rattle seems to be coming from the headrest.

I'm gonna bring this up the next time I go to the stealership for warranty work.
My 2010 passenger seat also rattles a bit when no one is seated in it. However the seat rattle is the least of my problems since I have had problems with the engine mounts which you can read in a different posting.
I noticed that the rattle occurs also when I shut the door when I get into the truck. I did it a few times looking toward the passenger seat and discovered the rattle was simply the passenger seat belt buckle. I went ahead and connected the seat belt to keep the buckle away from the right side of the interior and that solved the problem. No more rattles going over bumps. Simple solution to something that was really driving me nuts.
my 06 did it and I took the seat apart and put a dab of loctite on anything that was loose and hit every nut and bolt again and its been fine for over 3 years
my passenger seatbelt rattles, i put a small felt pad on the the back of the plastic where the connector meets the other piece of plastic, that took away the noise, so long as i make sure that the seat belt is sitting flush against the side of the truck and not angled so it bounces around and makes noise, i'd take a picture of my fix but i'm in iraq right now
mine does it too and i think it has to do with the way they engineered the fold flat passanger seat. I see it wiggle when i hit bumps and hear the rattle.

^My 08' does the same thing. Have yet to do the fix.
Leaving the radio on low helps; a milk crate packed with cleats, ratchet straps, jumper cables etc. add a Hi-Lift in the bed... it's pretty much drowned out.

Find out where your seatbelt clip is. If it's not in the right spot, it will bump between the seat's movements and the plastic panels in the cab, making noise.

I thought the same thing until I looked over and saw that it was all twisted up and sitting there. Straightend it out, and noise-free.
I own a 2010 as well and for the first month or so my passenger seat rattled/squeeked. The rattle sound went away after I moved the seatbelt and the squeek sorted itself out after a week or two on rough/dirt roads.
