Rockauto, is my go to. Almost impossible to find junkyard parts, for 1rst gens. Just out of curiosity, I looked at the LKQ in Chi. they have 1 1rst gen exterra.

Over the years I've picked up a lot from eBay and from my local dealership. Unfortunately, my local junkyards don't seem to get any Frontiers. It's hit or miss, but I do see a few parted out on the local Craigslist.

Yeah, all the online shops are pretty much the same in my experience. And many, if not most, are not trustworthy.

I deal with RockAuto when I have to, but I like to look anywhere other than the internet first.

Been buying fro Rock for 6 or 7 years now. Never had a problem. Great customer service, IMO. RockAuto is pretty much the reason my truck is still alive.

Have you ever gotten the wrong part? That was a pain in the ***.

Have you ever seen the shipping cost shuffle? Where items will change their location so there are now two fees? This one was probably just a coding error that they may have fixed as I haven't seen it in a while. But I also don't use them all that often.

Anyway, I just wanted to hear some options from other drivers.

Been doing this a long time. They do have 2 shipping locations, still cheaper than I can get in the subs of Chi. The only return I tried, was my fault. They credited 1/2, of the price, and I paid for shipping, and kept the wrong part (it was a small gasket set), that still fits on my truck, I just don't need it yet. As soon as it is their screwup, I'll let you know. In fact, just ordered a transmission oil pan with a drain plug, for the wife's 03 stang. OEM you have to drop the pan.

They have more than two, that's not what I'm talking about. I specifically select a part because it ships from the same location. But then they change it once it's in your cart.

I've been doing this for quite some time myself. This ain't my first rodeo. :)

Sorry you don't like them, best game in town for me. Wasn't implying, you didn't know what you were talking about. When I order parts, (I'm in the MW) It's either WH A, or WH, B. I see your location, that's obviously an issue. Shipping to the Chicago, area is obviously easier and cheaper. But, I have been to Idaho, and will switch with you. :)

I'm far enough out, that 30 min. gets me into cornfields, and river bottoms. But you are right, it ain't Idaho! Been there seen that, loved every backroad moment.

I was able to get a water pump, rear brake line, clutch master cylinder, and driver side mirror for about $40 total, From Amazon. They have a 50% or more section. Check it out. Granted the parts aren't anything like OEM, but some things aren't bad. Especially when your in a tight spot and just need a quick bandaid
