I have '06 Frontier red alert. The paint is coming off in the engine compartment under the hood. I was curious if any other owners had this issue. Nissan dealership told me they weren't going to pay for it.

A few have had this issue, including me. Contact Nissan USA directly and go to a different dealer.

is it doing the same thing as the above posts? that seemed for the most part to be cordoned off to the electric blues, but i suppose it wouldnt necessarily be specific to them.

is it yours since new? any front-end accidents that you may not be aware of? carfax does not always tell all....

Mine is coming off in the engine compartment around fenders (where the fenders aren't clear coated) and hood hinges. Jerk of a service manager said that they don't even paint the new trucks that its just primer on the interior fender. Still waiting for NissanUSA response. By the way, truck is red.

No accidents with the truck either.

Update 1-29-10
Nissan called to inform me they will repair the engine compartment area. They are going to reinburse me for the work.
