While accelerating at a stop light my CEL came on. AutoZone pulled two codes, P0325 and P0430. My truck idols steady and I haven't noticed a difference in performance.

After searching around here I noticed a lot of the time the knock sensor code will come up because of other codes and not because the sensor needs replacing, is this correct?

Perfect timing on this, my emissions inspection is due next month :/ lol.

Any advice would be great, thanks.

no... your ks does need replacing.

1. Try to get Nissan to replace it under the 8/80 long term emissions defect warranty or any other extended warranty you have.

2. Try replacing the Bank 2 downstream O2 sensor (sensor 2), clear the codes, and see the code comes back.

3. Get an O2 simulator from O2 Simulator, E-commerce to trick the ECU into thinking the pre-cat is working fine.

4. Find a pre-cat from a junked truck or someone who is getting rid of a used one for any reason.

5. Paying an astronomical amount to have Nissan replace the front pre-cat and O2 sensors.

What is the difference between the right down-stream o2 sensor and the left down-stream o2 sensor? I thought it was transmission type but they both say it's for a manual transmission.

As far as the KS goes, I keep getting told it is the most useless sensor anyways and to just worry about the other code.

the down stream o2 sensors should be the same.. maybe just different lengths.

also the ks makes a huge difference in the engines performance and fuel economy. Who ever told you that the ks is useless sensor they're idiots. Most ppl don't replace them because they don't throw a ses light, and could care less about the engines performance.

Thanks. Yeah, the lengths are different. 34.1" for the right and 44.9" for the left. I have a KC so perhaps I should go with the longer one?

I will no doubt get the KS replaced in time but my concern right now is having it pass emissions inspection. If it is just a concern over fuel economy and performance then I think I have some time to save for the repair?

My 2002 came up with the ks code all the time and after doing the KS mod that is written up really well on this site by Joefrontier and others I haven't had it since (9 months).
