HID's

Those are the ones I installed, and they work great. Let me know if you have better luck with the "high beams". I haven't been able to get mine to work, they pretty much just flash really bright for a second, then go back to normal. Tech support is worthless. At least everything works on low beam.

Pose A Question

First off Bi-Xenon for 9007 will never work since it doesn't really exist. As I understand bi-xenons are just a single beam and a motor is what controls the high beam by raising and lowering the projector. There are halogen piggy backs where it is hid low and both for high. I still would like to ask you a question though since I'm getting tired of having to wear sunblock and cataract glasses at night. Do you like being blinded?

A 9007 Halogen at 65 watts averages about 1350 lumens while a 9007 HID averages 2700 lumens. In theory, in a perfect world (which it is not) I would have to double my wattage to 130 to equal the output of your HID bulb. Is it legal to drive around with 130 watt bulbs? No. Why? Because they're to bright. Would you like it if someone was riding your a** with 130 watt bulbs or coming at you with 130 watt bulbs. I bet you wouldn't. So why do people put HID's in vehicles that weren't engineered for it. Are you just trying to bite at luxury you can't afford like with a BMW or Mercedes? Even they're projectors are way to bright. HID's are a safety feature only to the person behind the wheel and a complete hindrance to all other motorists.

P.S. Aftermarket HID kits are illegal according to FMVSS No. 108 though you'll probably never get pulled over anytime soon.

I get blinded by vehicles that have stock bulbs in them and missaligned headlights, do you really think I give a damn about my properly aimed headlights with HID drop ins? I have been running mine for some 3-4 years now, not one single problem or anyone flashing me yet! illegal or not I actually like to see at night when driving

Your science is a bit off. I have 150 watt off road lights that are signifigantly brighter than my 9007's, so I'm guessing 130 watts would be to. I think you are a victim of people that don't aim their lights properly. And according to TDPS, and the Texas vehicle code, these lights are not illegal. Trust me, I've been a cop for 20 years. the only thing that is illegal, is colored lighting, where the source of the lighting is visable while the vehicle is being operated(i.e. the neon lights you see people driving around with on their hoods, grills and interiors). Nice try....

I've never seen that DOT notice, but I can tell you that there isn't a specific violation for HID's in the Texas vehicle code. I'm sure if I tried I could make one fit, but it would be a strech. Bottom line:If your going to put them in a car, make sure you take the time to aim them properly!

Interesting

States: "do you really think I give a damn about my properly aimed headlights with HID drop ins?"

Ok....Do you really think I gave a damn when you get 400 watts of lighting in your fat face?

My science is wrong? I think you are confused because you stated opinions that make no sense.

"I have 150 watt off road lights that are significantly brighter than my 9007's, so I'm guessing 130 watts would be to. I think you are a victim of people that don't aim their lights properly." You can never "correctly" aim an arc discharge bulb in a halogen engineered headlamp assembly, it was never designed to be there in the first place!

If you have regular halogen 9007's then obviously a 150 watt light is brighter considering the 9007 is 65 watts. If you have a 9007 PnP HID kit the 150watt lights will still "look" brighter because the light is actually FOCUSED! Do you even understand how lighting works? Obviously you don't because if you did you wouldn't have thrown a PnP HID kit in a 9007 and then cry about how the bi-xenon is nonfunctional. My mind is boggled. A cop that actually enjoys driving around and blinding people. Bravo.

And I was referring to luminosity in my so called science bit, not "what looks brighter."

Maybe you should read what I actually wrote and try to comprehend it. Also, I'm pretty sure federal laws supersede that of state laws. And according to FMVSS 108, those kits are illegal. Nice try....

Nice. Still doesn't change the fact there is no law in Texas. Last time I checked, I can only write tickets based on the Texas Vehicle Code. And I guess there is nothing anybody can say that's going to make you happy, so I'll just end this arguement now. I'm sure people don't long on to this to watch people complain, I know I don't. I was just giving you the correct information. Have a great day!
