I am getting ready to do an oil change and a brakes on the front. Does anyone have any suggestions as far as which type of oil and brand of brakes are best? It will be my very first time with any of this - my baby went to the dealer for everything before. I have a 2006 SE 4X4. Any suggestions/advice will be greatly appreciated!

It will be much easier if you just pull the front "foil" skid plate off to get the the oil filter.If your just replacing the pads and the rotors are fine it takes less then 45minutes I just did my backs on sunday.I used Ceramic Brake Pads front and rear

It is much easier to just reach around the skid plate on pass. side to remove filter. Use access plate/hole in skid to look through. 5w/30 oil, use synthetic if want to extend changes up to 10,000 mi or twice year. I'd use Nissan pads or premium line pads from like a NAPA, oem style/material.

don't know why people claim to have such a difficult time using the access hole. My arms are not thin by any means, and i have plenty of space to reach in with pliers to loosen the filter.
