I have seen nothing that I would consider "official". Nissan does seem to be tight lipped about 2018 Frontier. One would think if they had something for the regular Fall model year changeover, they would be showing something to drum up interest.

If they were retooling a factory for a new model, you would think someone would have diarrhea of the mouth and let that out.

Every month, another thread asking the same thing.

When there's actual official announcement (as in Nissan North America specifically, officially saying something - and not some who knows internet blog or curated "news" website) , I'm sure we'll all know.

Until then, I hate to burst your bubble people but move on with life LOL

They're doing this for Mercedes everywhere except the US. Why not tweak the body work, cut some luxuries and sell this thing as Frontier with Diesel?

The problem is that vehicles for the US market have to be almost designed and engineered from the ground up for this market due to safety and EPA regs and not just some rehashed off shore market design/build. Ford is running into this issue for their 2019 Ranger relaunch and is why the Toyota HiLux design will never make it here.

You also have to build them in the NAFTA area to avoid the chicken tax. If it wasn't for that, you would see the Mercedes pickup here. As well as Rangers from Thailand.

Don't know if it means anything but was just reading this link:
Mercedes-Benz Enters Global Pickup Market With X-Class - PickupTrucks.com News

And it mentions how the 2018 Frontier will have a new ladder frame in the last paragraph:
"There's no doubt it will be quite a while before a Mercedes-Benz pickup truck is sold in the U.S., but we will be seeing the new ladder-frame Nissan Frontier next year. "

Also if I recall correctly, a couple of months before the Tacoma was redesigned in 2016, it didn't sound like some of the Tacoma forums were expecting any changes. So think Toyota might have announced it kind of late and there were no rumors or anything beforehand as well.

--------------------

Forgot to mention, kind of funny but when someone was talking about cars and pointed to my Frontier they mentioned how I had a preference for new cars/trucks. (they were talking about how they only buy salvaged/retitled vehicles)

Didn't bother telling them that my Frontier is almost ten years old but took it as a compliment that they thought it was a new truck. One of the perks of not having a redesign in a while and think that in general trucks age well.

They better give the nissan loyalists a crumb to hold on to or they just may go buy another truck of a different brand. I personally would buy a 2500 Ram crew cab long bed. You can even get it in a manual trans which I miss very much.

It does not say that it will have a new ladder frame. It says new "ladder-frame" Frontier, as opposed to unibody.

Next year is 2018, so I'm guessing we'll be seeing the "new" 2019 Nissan Frontier in 2018. Assuming that these guys aren't just guessing like everybody else.

I know, sorry. I've been ready to buy something new for the last three years or so. Sure hope 2018 is the new model.
ah well, my 2005 Frontier needs general maintenance stuff now and then but runs like a champ. I put 172K miles so far on the original clutch too. Truck owes me nothing.

I still think we're going to get a re-badged Navara NP300 for the next Frontier..

I don't know why the NP300 Navara looks are so polarizing. I personally like it. It looks like a slightly evolved current-gen Frontier. Slightly, but not overly aggressive lines. I'd have bought one if that style had been available in 2016 here.
