My apologies if this exists already, but I couldn't find any existing posts for OBD-II dongles for iOS.

I have a 2006 Nissan Frontier, and I'm looking to get a dongle to read my engine codes, as well as other diagnostic info. I want it to be iOS compatible through Bluetooth, as well as low-profile so I can leave it in the truck. If possible, I'd like it to be less than $40-50.

I've seen a couple of affordable dongles in Amazon, but I'd like some opinions about what others in this group have used. There is one for $99 by BlueDriver that I'm considering as a last resort if nothing else would suffice.

Thanks!

What app would you be using? I was under the impression iOS didn't allow a bluetooth connection.

I use Torque and Android plus the cheaper unit in the above post. Looks like Contra has it working on his iPad mini tho so I might be mistaken on the Apple stuff.

After a lot of research, I landed on a wireless dongle instead of Bluetooth. Apparently for iOS, Bluetooth support mostly requires jail breaking the device. That's not something I care to do.

Vgate iCar 2 Mini ELM327 OBD II WiFi Car Diagnostic Scan Tool for iOS and Android with Switch Auto Sleep ( Black & Blue )

I plan to use the DashCommand app:
