O2 sensor spacers - install on only first sensors?

I did a walker B pipe delete...codes came up looong before that for po420 430 like 2 yrs.. did the o2 sensor trick with straight non-foulers from auto zone after that.. fixed it for inspection no cel ...come on and off now and again...but not all the time like before ...my cats have 232,000 on them now purrs like a cat.
