Is there any settings to send notifications when you get a private message like to an email.

I get on here alot when I am at work but not so much outside of work hours wondering if there is a way to push notifications

Yes. Open your user CP and click on "Edit Options" on the left side of the screen. Then check the box that says "Receive Email Notification of New Private Messages."
