Rendezvous 3.0 is on the calendar! Once again for the 3rd year running (hence 3.0) MOS will be hosting a free gathering of overlanders in northern MN outside of Backus MN at the Foothills Horse Camp. https://goo.gl/maps/2Spkef75HbR2

The date is set for Friday September 15th through Sunday the 17th.

This year we will once again have the main part of the camp grounds and use of the lighted pavilion with refrigerators along with water. Located approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes north of the Twin Cities, the site abuts the Foothills State Forest, providing convenient access to miles trails. The camp itself is a large site with camp sites set among pine trees with a pavilion for meeting space and a number of rustic outhouses.

Purpose of the event:

This will be an expo style event. The purpose will be to attract as many people from the MOS forum, and across the Midwest, to come and share their interest in vehicle dependent travel and learn from one another. Stock vehicle, modified, motorcycles, camper vans. Come one, come all.

Activities:

The on site vehicle obstacle course will be back as to test your driving and hand signaling skills, possibly including a vehicle teeter totter.

The always popular Friday night trail ride and vehicle light competition will be taking place at 8 PM on Friday.

Saturday trail rides to explore the adjoining forest and test driving skills.

Saturday afternoon depending on interest and availability we will hold discussion sessions to learn and share knowledge around various topics such as:
- Trip and route planning
- Trail comms, Ham and beyond the CB
- Vehicle recovery
- Hi-Lift operation
- Lighting, vehicle and camp setups
- Trail Chef, cooking and meal prep
- Preparation and Packing, to bring or not to bring?
- First Aid on the trail
- Trail of Thrones, camp chair comparison

While we currently do not have a prize setup, we will invite each wannabe chef to prepare their trail best dish for the Iron Chef cook off. The Paella was a big winner last year, what can top it in 2017?

At this time no formal registration is required as this is not a formal event. Just a meeting of like minded wondering souls to enjoy each others company. Just post up questions and if you think you can make it.

my only complaint i ever have in offroad events and meets, is thats the direct opposite of why im out in the wilderness lol.

like the last thing i want is a dude that spends 90% of his time on the couch eating chips telling me where MY tires need to go on the vehicle i bought and built myself. i can get angry as **** over it in like 3 seconds lol.

Interesting... I'm actually planning to be Pequot Lakes area that weekend and may be able to swing by for part of Saturday. Is a MN OHV trail permit required for this at all?
Nope, though we do encourage people to have. We will be sticking to the fire roads and logging trails.
