No Sirius Signal

Turned on my satellite radio this morning and all I am getting on the screen is "Acquiring" this is a Nissan factory system. Called Sirius 3 times, they have sent a signal 3x - no luck. Unhooked the battery for a couple of seconds - still no good. Anyone one have any ideas?

Is the antenna connected tight?
Is there anyway the antenna could have come unplugged or the wire get severed?
Sounds to me like the antenna isn't working properly or not connected.
Not sure if the factory units have this, but my aftermarket unit has a box that connects to the head unit. This has happened to me before and I have disconnected the wire from the Sirius box and the head unit which has seemed to fix my problems. On another note, for the past month or so my sirius reception has sucked worse than usual!
In doing some research it seems that the Sigma antennas can go bad. But what I want to see first is, a couple of weeks ago I had my truck in for a water leak. The dealer said he resealed the windshield. I can't recall listening to my sat. radio since then (I have been listening to new cd's) I am curious to see if they pinched the antenna wire. I am going to try to look tonite.
Good luck! Atleast if the dealer pinched the wire, it is their fault so they will have to fix it.
Another easy test would be to plug a different antenna in.
Yes I know you probably don't have an extra one laying around.
Just go buy one at wally world or the like and return it after your test.
That would at least verify or eliminate the antenna possibility.
I believe the connections for factory Sirius hook-ups are in the driver's kick panel.

OR

Take it back to the dealer and ask them if they could have messes something up while doing the last bit of work on your truck.
Of course they'll probably deny it. :(
Check all connections if you moved anything. Otherwise, it's probably the antenna like everyone else said. Pinched wire or it just went bad. It sucks, but it happens. Seen it a million times.
Checked wire - OK. So I need an antenna, unfortunately the $20 ones on ebay don't have the same style of connector.

Like I said go grab one at Walmart or Bestbuy, etc..
What style connector does the factory sirius for the antenna?
When I installed the wife's (OEM) Sirius in the 2006 Altima SE-R the antenna connector was identical to the portable Starmate receiver we use in the house and also identical to the Kenwood Sirius module I installed in the Frontier.

I think its the same connector, but it is encased in a plastic push in connector to keep it locked in on the tuner
Was the OEM tuner located in the driver's kick panel like I said?
The reason I ask is because I was pretty sure that's what I read on here but not positive.
Yeah Todd thats where it is, It was a breeze to install. My connector is different than the one you have pictured. I believe everything uses a female SMB style connector, the only problem that mine is inside a plastic connector that clips into the tuner to keep it from falling out. I'll just have to buy another sigma or magnet mount from the dealer or on line

Todd, you getting high winds and snow where you are at?

Gotcha.

EDIT:
You could probably use a standard antenna then, it just wouldn't have the clip part like the OEM one, right?

Yep, windy as hell right now and light flurries.
At this point we have roughly 4" on the ground from this storm.
Williamsport area here, where in Pa are you Spike?

EDIT:
Somerset, Pa? :)

Dang, Somerset is probably like 10 miles from where flight 93 went down on 9/11. Wowsers.

i've had this problem before, all my unit said (aftermarket kenwood) was "acquiring signal" for like 2 days, it was annoying as hell. i called sirius and they said they were updating their satelite. haven't had a repeat problem with it since.
Yeah a regular antenna would probably just keep falling out. I am about 30min north of Somerset. A tiny little borough called Summerhill - and sure is f*@k ain't summer here today!

The antennas are a really REALLY tight fit to push into the connector on every Sirius receiver I've ever connected, including the Nissan OEM unit in the Altima SE-R.
I'd bet you would be just fine with a standard, non OEM antenna, which would also be cheaper I might add.

Yep, it's not summer hear either brother, snowing for three days straight on and off here.
We really only got probably 4-5" total believe it or not.
Well, at least it's not balls-out cold on top of it.
the factory antennas use a connecter similar to an xm antenna. They are not like aftermarket siri antennas.

you can find an adapter online to change that though
Well got a great deal on a Sigma antenna on ebay but....It didn't fix my issue. I think the fact I can't even change channels on the radio (The screen goes blank) tells me its the $200 tuner, which sucks!
