Email I just got highlighting Nissan's new low-cost Navigation Multimedia HU, says it will be available for other models in the near future. Really like the all in-one design rather than the pop-up on the dash. Anybody...

Not a bad looking unit for factory in a low budget vehicle, screen could be a little larger but again the use of the word "affordable" is going to dictate the size and "glitz". It would be nice to know if that XM button is really a SAT button for us Sirius users. I know that it it Sirius/XM but for us that have Sirius, switching to XM or getting XM isn't as smooth as it should be.
mines even cheaper, its called a map

Not bad for a 5" lcd screen.Pretty much seems like the HU u get w/ the 08 NISMO package except u give up a 6 disc cd for the nav and screen. For people happy w/ the stock RF NISMO system (which isnt bad for stock) it would be a solid cost effective upgrade. Some Garmin units are going for more than than. Grabbing a nav system and back up camera w/ the upgraded look seems like a solid deal. If it was a simple swap out and i was sticking stock I would grab it for only 400..

FWIW if you page through the technology tab on the link provided apparently there's more than one model. One is the RF model the other looks more basic...T
I'll stick with a portable GPS so I can enjoy my Alpine sound.
That's a nice unit if your vehicle was delivered with one... Sadly, the price to get/swap one is about 3-4x as much as aftermarket.

I only posted to this to make owners aware of their options, not saying this is the best by any means. I don't like the look of aftermarket in my vehicles, maybe when I was 25yo, but that's just me. And I'll disagree on cost, it won't be nearly 3-4x times as much, but we'll see when available...T
I enjoy my rf system with added gps dock, but the bose in my wife's altima coupe kicks a**. Everything about it rocks except for not having 6 disc capability, bluetooth works great, navigation is good and even has dvd playback. We like it better then the one in her previous infiniti g37 coupe it has a awesome menu screen and excellent connectivity to an ipod. I wish nissan would get rid of the Rockford and go to Bose. ^no argument about a clean/plain OE head unit here..
A std. RF 6 disk is avg. $800 adding GPS should kick few .01s more.. aftermarket Dbl. Din GPSs.. $350+.
Actally not that bad

When speaking to my Nissan dealership were I got my Z and frontier from I brought this up to him. The Nav version that will be avalible in 2010 nissan models equiped w/ the premium RF system. Almost every car except the z and GTR. He said the nav version with the Ipod dock will be aroung 575 for the head unit. So it gives u a 5" lcd screen w/ nav, ipod, sat avalibility, still 6 disc cd, and has hactually has av outputs for a back up camera and rca for amps. Not that bad if your looking to retain a stock look with the extras. Some GARMINS are retailing for almost $500 now. I think its a good deal and would grab it if i had kept my RF system. Then again these words are that of a car salesman so dont know how trustworthy it is and wouldnt lay my life on his word. I know the nav option with a 7" LCD screen and 6 disk was $1200 extra when I bought my Z, however alot different set up.
