Nissan Recalling 2010 Frontiers for Potential Cracks in Front Drive Shafts

Nissan is planning "a voluntary service campaign" next month for about 650 four-wheel-drive 2010 Armada, Frontier, Pathfinder, Xterra, Titan and Infiniti QX56 models to inspect the front drive shafts for cracks and repair them if necessary. This is the same issue that Toyota recently reported with their 2010 Tacomas. The drive shafts are made by Dana.

Wow! 650 Canadian Nissans comprised of 6 different models vs 1500 Canadian Tacomas. Is it any wonder the aftermarket is much more interested in producting parts for Toyota?

I looked on Nissan's site and couldnt find any specific info on this.. Does anyone know if they have published the VIN# ranges that may be affected? i was gonna crosscheck that with my VIN...

thanks..
I guess Dana was having a bad run on things, not good.
I also think all auto manufacturers are going to do this. The Federal Government is going after the manufacturers right now. Easier to slip under the national radar, issue a recall and get it repaired while Toyota take the heat.

About a week ago, I read a article about Honda saying the pressure on Toyota was not good for other companies because all cars/trucks have 1 problem or another. Wish they would do something about the tensioners and tranny/radiator thing.
Yes, I guess being proactive right now with Toyota in the limelight is something all the other manufacturers should take advantage of!
