OK, I know they want to you run to the stealership and buy their fluid but...NOT!:laugh:

So what is the equivalent fluid (I'd prefer a synthetic equivalent) and what is the capacity of the transfer case in a 2005 LE 4X4?

2 1/8 quarts, you can use amsoil universal synthetic atf. there are plenty of options out there just look around and do your research

THANKS!! They sell Mobil 1 ATF locally and my research is telling my it's fine also.

Last time I changed my transfer case it was Matic D a couple years ago. Now I'm looking for a cheaper route. Is it ok to use Castrol multi vehicle atf or Valvoline Maxlife ATF in the 2005+ transfer cases?

Use the MaxLife. Buy it from Walmart.com and the shipping is ony 97 cents. If not, buy it at aap or az for only 18ish bucks.
