Well you gotta love craigslist. Found this baby for 100.00 from a semi local guy. Here are the pics of the kit(practically new), and before and after install.

My only question is; Where does this hose attach to? It was just clipped to the back side of the stock box?

that is the breather for the front diff just, zip tie it up somewhere

looks good, i have the nismo too. doesn't have the tq of the closed box intakes but sounds so much better :)
FYI if you need a replacement filter the Nismo intake is made my AEM so you can run their dry filter.
The aem dryflow part# 21-2109dk

Thanks for all the info!! Next step is going to be some type of programming..........
i can't remember off hand what size exactly that vent hose is (most likely half inch) but if you do alot of off roading and your concerned about dirt getting in you can get one of K&N's Steel Base Crankcase Vent Filter. you can get one with the right size nipple for the hose and clamp it on to prevent dirt from making its way to the front diff.

62-1100 - K&N Crankcase Vent Filters, Vent Filter

thats what the filter looks like and the link to the page on K&N of the .5 in one, i know one guy on here has added this filter to his and its something that i keep considering doing to mine Last page shows his install and why you'd want the one with the bolt attached so you can drill your heat shield and hard mount the filter really nicely.

i was told that the nismo filter is a KnN
the filter itself could possibly be K&N but the intake is manufactured by AEM and exactly the same intake that they offer under their name the only difference is from AEM you can get their Dryflow filter which is something that they kept exclusive to themselves and do not supply nissan with for the nismo version. these dryflow style filters are supposed to be the best thing out there as of now as far as air flow, filtration, and ease of cleaning since they use no oil. another good thing about not having an oiled filter is there is no chance of the oil vaporizing and coating the mass airflow sensor.
Looks awesome, how's it sound/perform?

So far from a dead stop made a noticeable difference in wheel chirp off the line, alittle more, and i wouldn't have any tires! Under normal driving conditions its alittle louder, but still quiet. After about 4,000rpms its starts to woooot loud, and i love it, woot woot woot woot!!! hahaha. I especially love it from second gear to third gear change under heavy acceleration! I love it, and couldn't be happier. Now for some type of programming:fantastic:

Haha sounds great! :p I wish I could grab one for that cheap..
Awesome deal. Looks brand new. Think I paid $250.
Looks good. Sounds like you noticed some better performance as well. Now go get the Cortex tune and let it rip. :chainsaw: lol
