Looks good. I like to keep the 4x4. How about removing the FRONTIER and put the NISMO there?

There's several other ways to do it. You could remove the FRONTIER and put NISMO there or put it in front of the 4X4 or somewhere else (on the side maybe). I was also looking for a large V6 but haven't found one yet.

HAS ANYONE FIGURED OUT WHERE I GOT THE LETTERS?

I got them from the Nissan dealer. They're avallable for about $50, not cheap but available. Nissan uses three different size letters 1", 1.5", and 2", Frontier is 1.5. I spent some time looking for the M. They may also be available from a Nissan parts dealer online cheaper. Here's how I got them.

The N-I-O are from FRONTIER

The S is from SE

The M is from ARMADA

The hardest thing is to get the letters positioned and spaced correctly. I spent a lot of time ensuring everything was lined up. The letters are very sticky and once they're on, they're on.

So is it $50 for the set of "frontier" letters and another $50 for the set of "armada" letters and so on or could you buy them individually and end up with a $50 price?

I payed about $50 plus tax for all three. I get a discount from my dealer but it shouldn't be over $60 total.

The parts guy thought I was nuts when I went in to order them. He wanted to know what I was going to do. He knew I had just bought my Frontier. Told him I just needed the letters for something. When I go in for my first oil change I'm going to asked them how come the other Nismo's don't have NISMO on the tailgate. That'll keep the guessing for awhile!

54 that's same exact question I emailed to Bob McGehee who is the Senior Producer of Communications at the Nissan plant in TN. He said he would pass it on to the planning people. That was last summer so maybe he needs to be reminded that some of us Nismo owners would like the letter avalible without having to buy all the extras. Email him at [email protected] Maybe he needs to hear from a few of us on this matter.

That's something I had thought of too, why didn't Nissan do this? At least they could offer just the NISMO letters for a cheaper price.

Maybe I'll email him with a picture.

Wirenut, I emailed Bob McGehee today. Explained what I had done and asked him if there was anyway to get the NISMO letters by themselves. We'll see if he replies back to me.

Since Nissan already has all of the letters available how hard would it be to just
package them up and sell them as a set. They could probably sell more of the Nismo
letters than all of the other letter sets put together.

You might email Mr. McGehee and ask him to look into the possibility of offering a Nismo letter set.

I got a reply from Bob McGehee yesterday...don't know if they got it. I thought I was clear but maybe not so I've sent another email with pictures, no reply yet. They thought I had toured the plant last year and presented a homemade NISMO logo, maybe that threw them off. Anyway here's his email:

If you are talking about the NISMO sticker that goes on the side of the
bed (rear) on the Frontier, yes they are available though the parts
system. We also offer 3 different sizes of NISMO stickers. Ken is
working on or has just posted the bulletin on them with the sizes, costs
and pictures. I am not sure what they are asking for beyond these
offerings?

Ken/Bob S/Nina - Do we have a part number for a nice NISMO sticker that
would fit nicely on a tailgate? Potential clubs sales await it.

Bob M. - While well intended, don't think we wish to support that type
of look.

I think he toured the Smyrna plant last year with a local Frontier
Club and was showing off his "handmade" NISMO logo, which did look OEM.
He's asking about NISMO creating one for the Frontier so that owners
don't have to piece one together as he did.

Bob,

Do I understand correctly that someone wants to
make a new NISMO logo? I can say with 99.9% certainty that will NOT
fly. The NISMO teams in both Japan and the U.S. would need to be
involved and I can't imagine them approving a cobbled together logo.
They might be very supportive of adding a NISMO VI/BI correct logo onto
the tailgate.

I'd start with a local Nissan dealer that carries NISMO parts.
NNA-Smyrna is the facility where the Frontier is manufactured and we
have no direct tie to NISMO that I am aware of. I'm copying Dean Case
to see if he may know more about your idea.

Thanks,

BobM

Nismo54 do you think they even have a clue of what we are wanting. Mr Case seems to have a real attitude. It may warrant a phone call to get him strightened out on the subject. I don't think we are asking to make a NEW logo. The letters are not cobbled together. It's their damn letters. Really tickin me off a little. One of the main things you learn in a company is to listen to your customer because they are the ones that are gong to buy. Maybe Mr Case has been in the office to long and needs to get out on the front lines to refresh his skills. I think Bob McGehee knows what we are asking for just that Mr Case is clueless

Sorry for the venting. Oh by the way I was the one that toured the plant last year and sent Bob McGehee a picture of someones NISMO sighn they had put on there tailgate.

The more I thought about it the more I felt I needed to send something to Mr Case. Hope I didn't blow it for us. Here is what I sent him

Mr Case, I'm a proud owner of a 2005 Nissan Frontier NISMO crew cab. I toured the plant in TN last summer and it was really a site to see. I'm a member of a couple of Nissan Frontier fourms on the internet. A few of us had questions on why the models LE,SE had chrome letter mounted on the tailgates and the NISMO had none. Now, we realize that we have the NISMO stickers pasted on the side of the bed on the trucks. A few of the members have bought chrome letters of the FRONTIER ,SE,ARMADA to make chrome NISMO logo on their tailgates. Now I don't like alot of of stuff on my truck but I'll have to admit that it did look very good. I know you had emailed Mr Bob McGehee who is the Senior Producer of Communications at the TN plant. In it you had mentioned that the letters were a ( cobbled together logo ) and it would be a NEW NISMO logo. All we would like is to have the option to buy the chrome NISMO letters without having to buy 50 or 60 dollars of Nissan letters to make one. Who knows you might sell more of them than you think.

Thanks Bob ( drumbob )

Wirenut, so they thought it was you! What did you show them? BobM thought it was handmade but looked OE.

You're probably right about Mr Case, he didn't have a clue what I was talking about and probably didn't care. My first email didn't include pictures which maybe it should have. We'll see if they respond again. Who knows maybe it's got them to at least think about it?

No that's good...the more emails the better. Going straight to Mr Case might get a better response. That's very similar to what I wrote to BobM but not sure if he forwarded my email the him. Let us know what he says.
