Just bought my Frontier last week, I'm a loyal Ford guy but my last two put a bad taste in my mouth. My 2002 Expedition was a great car until it started ejecting spark plugs and now the second transmission was going out. The wife's 2013 Focus never really ran right because of the bad transmissions Ford put in those cars. So needing a new truck, It needed to have a V8, good towing capacity, automatic and 4wd. I looked at Ram's, Toyota's and Nissan's, seeing that the Toyota's and Nissan's held up their value and ran great well into 100k - 200k miles so decided to look only at them. Happened upon my Frontier at the Nissan dealer, they had used 2014 Frontier but the financing was better for the 2017. Didn't get the V8 but it is more then capable of towing what I need to tow.

Don't think you could have bought a V8 for a Frontier.
They don't make one.
