I've had my 2016 Desert Runner for 2 weeks now and I have to say it's been a great truck as expected. Went by one of our local truck accessories stores and had $1500 spent in my head inside 20 minutes which means I'm excited about this truck. I went through the same thing when I bought my 2005 Ram 3500 since that Cummins engine just screams mods...

I had a 2014 Jeep Cherokee that I put 96k miles on from brand new before this truck and I don't think I'll ever buy another Chrysler as long as Fiat is involved. Transmission replaced at 23k miles, exterior door handle cap fell off around that time, shifter nob (button you push to release the shifter) fell off and warranty wouldn't cover it, oil pressure sensor went bad and warranty wouldn't cover... all of this before 100k which is not good. I drive a lot of miles every year and most of vehicles easily make 200k before I have to started thinking about them. I was afraid this one wouldn't make it that far since the transmission was still not changing gears consistently enough to make me happy. By comparison, I had a 2011 Dodge Neon that I put 214k trouble free miles on before I sold it.

With that behind me, I'm super excited about my Little Mule and I hope it lasts as long as some of the members have shown their trucks to last. One of the things that really surprised both my wife and myself was how smooth the ride was. I'm not sure if it was the tire size, the Bilstein shocks or combination of both, but it seemed like the truck just rolled over a lot of the humps and bumps in the road or absorbed them better. My Jeep was one of the most comfortable vehicles I've owned but I felt more of the road than I do with this truck. Anyone have any comments on that - this tire size and type is new to me - is this similar to 29s on a mountain bike?

As many have done coming to this forum - thanks all for your input to all of the members and their questions. It really helped me decide on this truck after reading all of the Q&A provided here. I hope to jump in and pass it forward while asking my own questions.
