Hello
I recently bought a 2008 Frontier with approx 155000 km on it. Its in excellent condition so I jumped at it without knowing much about the truck . This forum has been a wealth of information for me and after I read a few posts I crawled under the truck to see if the rad bypass had been done... and it had (Phew). After about 3 months of driving I noticed the radiator started leaking so I replaced it with a TYC brand radiator
So here are my questions.. Can I assume the new Rad does not have the defect and I can reverse the bypass or should I play it safe and leave it as is and get an additional trans cooler/ temp gauge if needed.... from what Ive read, OBD readers can't read trans temp on these trucks and I will need to install a gauge

I plan on doing a little bit of hauling in the summer (small camper, 3 hours travel time...eastern Canada, which can mean hot muggy summers but no mountains) and I don't like the idea of reducing the OEM cooling without at least some way of monitoring whats going on

Thanks in advance. Love the Truck

Thanks for the info
I will probably take you advice and hook the Trans cooler up before I do any towing. The rear springs just had extra leaves added (according to the previous owner) so it may not be an issue. I guess time will tell.

Thanks again
