same recall here 2012 Nissan Frontier SV

same truck.. was looking to see what the recall is.. still haven't really found out...

I just spoke to my local dealer and confirmed it is the driver side airbag module. But was told the part is not available at this time and may be in the fall.

For legal reasons Nissan is required to announce a recall as soon as they are aware of the issue, it typically takes time to figure out the fix and to get it into production. It's something like 400,000 vehicles.

I just made an appointment for my 2012 Frontier SV. In 2019 I took in my Frontier due to an issue related to the driver air bag. The dealership charged me over $1,700. I wonder if this is related to anything I had to pay back in 2019. Stay safe everyone.

The same things happened to my 2012 Frontier SV. Paid outta pocket. I hope it's not related to that.

Did you ever have any issues with your driver side air bag? Any sensor issues or anything that you had to replace at the dealer?

Yes I had to replace something on the driver side air back. Cost about 1,700$ back 2 years ago.

I have a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder and just found out about the recall for my truck. I am taking mine to the dealership Monday to get it fixed. My driver's side air bag light has been blinking for at least four years now and when I asked them about it back then, they said I had to pay to get it fixed. I am glad I waited and thank God I had no accidents. Anyone else air bag light on?

It is NOT the air bag. It is the the Nissan emblem that may come loose on the steering wheel/airbag.

The resin emblem on the driver s airbag module cover in affected vehicles may have reduced durability due to potential supplier production process variation. In this condition, over time the posts of the emblem may develop cracks, and the emblem and retainer components could detach in the event of an airbag deployment.SAFETY RISK:
A detached emblem and/or retainer component may become a projectile during an airbag deployment, increasing the risk of injury to vehicle occupants.REMEDY:
Nissan is currently developing a remedy plan.

Aloha, I received a report about recall while on Kelly Blue Book KBB.com for outboard seatbelts on my 2004 Frontier XE king cab. I used the VIN. No other notification.

I think it doesn't matter which emblem it is considering the velocity their moving at after the explosion goes off, its fast enough to blow that nissan emblem right into your brain.
