Hello everyone!

Just drove home a used 2016 SV Long Bed 4x4 yesterday afternoon with only 4055 miles on it. It was at a Honda dealer in town.

So far, loving it.

Test drove several Tacoma's before the Frontier but once I took the Frontier out for a spin, it was for me. The ride in my opinion is much smoother. I'm just a suburban home owner that wanted a nice driving truck that will help out with yard work and occasional home depot trips and be my daily driver that I could enjoy. I'm glad I drove the Frontier!

Looking forward to do the Rogue Key Fob once I find the thread. 2016 and key plus fob still? Come on Nissan. I know you haven't touched this truck in awhile, but the key fob? How hard could that be to bring up to modern times?

Anyway, looking forward to many years with this truck and many visits to this forum for help!

Thanks!

Cesar

Hi and welcome

I wonder if the previous owner traded it in for the new Ridgeline (?)

Anyhow, the Rogue key mod should work just fine, nothing's changed between my truck (2014) and yours with regards to the key LOL

The salesperson said they got it as a trade in in their new car showroom so I assumed it was traded in on the Ridgeline.

The books weren't even out of the shrink wrap.

Hard to know the real story on how someone buys a truck in 12/2015 and trades it in six months later but I guess everyone has their reasons.

I'm just glad I stumbled upon it and the interior color is one of my favorites to boot!

Would have been nice to have the utiltrack system and a cover, but you can't have everything when buying used unless you're willing to do a lot of shopping around.

Thanks, I'm loving it too!

Day number 3 with it and like any vehicle, noticing some things I dislike.

1. If ipod is plugged into the USB in console arm rest and you turn off the radio prior to turning off the truck, the next time when you turn on the truck, the radio automatically turns on and starts playing the ipod. Earlier, I noticed that when I did not have the ipod plugged in, if the radio was off when you turned off truck, next time you started the truck, the radio would still be off.

2. Driver seat really needs an up and down option to be standard even on the manual seats. My mother's 2015 Rogue has manual seats that go up down back and forth.

3. Key separate from FOB.

So far, those are my only gripes and hopefully the last ones, but you know how we humans are, always find something to complain about. :)

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!

Excellent first post with pics!!!
Your truck looks awesome !!!
I don't think I have ever seen a "red' crew cab long bed on this forum or around town where I live.

My guess is the previous owner got his girl friend pregnant , then got married and traded the Frontier in on a Honda Mini Van.

Great intro!!!

#2 - One reason I bought a Desert Runner. It has knobs that control up and down on the seat. That and I really liked the cloth better than the SVs. I didn't know about the Key Fob hack. Going to go look that up. Did get spoiled with my 2014 Jeep Cherokee and the push button and remote start.

Yeah, the material on the SV seat is starting to bug me too.

Was in my mother's 2015 Rogue the other day and the material is so much nicer.

May look into getting seat covers or professionally reupholstered.

Get seat warmers while you're at it if you go the reupholster route!! We all need warm butts.

...I like the mesh on the Fronty, the Rogue loaner I had was such a boring vehicle to drive with that CVT:frown:

The "Rogue Key Fob" was one of the easiest thing to do!! I love it better than carrying the original fob and key...

Below is a URL to a youtube video to showing the procedure to program the remotes/fob. Sometimes it takes more than 6 insertions and withdraws. Mine took 8. YMMV.

Good Luck hope this helps you.

This truck could really use shift paddles.

I find myself constantly turning off overdrive when driving in the city and some times even moving the shifter down to third.

I know my gas mileage would be worse but it would be much more enjoyable rather than flooring it to downshift or moving the shifter carefully to not shove it into 2nd or worse.

My last car was a stick so that's where this gripe is coming from. Could have looked for a stick Frontier but had enough of a hard time finding what I wanted not to mention it was time for a change.

Still loving the decision though!

It gets mentioned every week that a CC long bed w/ 6-sp would be a great OPTIONAL trim level for Nissan to make available. This has not been offered since '10 IIRC.

Since '16 model year began, Nissan in its 'infinite wisdom' - no longer offers a 6' bed w/ a 6-sp in ANY trim level.
