Aloha All,

New member joined about a year ago, been lurkin!
When I am in neutral (Auto Trans) I can not rev my engine, but when it park, no problem.
I've been looking around, no answers so far. Is this normal??

This is a pic about 3 months after I bought the truck, just got my plates in, simple stuff, window visors, tyger running boards and yellow vinyl stickers for the fogs.

Is your foot on the brake when doing that? It may be a safety in the throttle by wire system and having the brake override the accelerator. Years ago some brands were having sudden acceleration claims and this was supposedly developed so that situation would not be possible, if in park there’s no possibility.
In my Grand Cherokee I can’t have the door open to put it up on ramps, it just revs, close the door and it’s back in gear.

wild, i havent tried it while pressing the break, more so while moving, I'd put it in Neutral and try to rev. Thanks for the input!

Thought it was in that area. I retired from HECO so I had a similar view from the top deck of the garage (Ward across from Blaisdell).
