Well I have just recently bought my first ever nissan frontier.....2010 se cc 4x4.....I wanna put a lift of some sort on it but I am just overwelmed by all the lifts and options that are out there. I have had back surgery recently so i want to keep the truck riding as good as possible yet give it the lifted and aggresive look w/ 20" wheels and some relativly aggressive lookin tires althought I reallly wont be doin that much off roading with it. My main issue is what lift to go with...I have seen the 2.5 front 1.5 rear leveling /lift kits but will that still give me a relativly smooth ride & also what tire size would i wanna put on there. I have seen the toyo open country tires and I love the way they look on the trucks but again what size would I wanna go with. Also....I love the frontys that I have seen with the 6" suspention lifts on them but i am worried what kind of ride I will end up with and I do some travelin ( anywhere from 3 hr-7hr trips) so I wanna keep a smooth ride ....well now that i have totally confused everyone who reads this I would love your in put and pictures to show me what it would look like. Thx so Much Nate @ Waters Edge Kennel :comphead:

all of the lifts you mention just use some sort of spacer and dont effect the ride but any amount of lift will effect the handling

as for tires i run 285/70/17s w/ a 2.5in leveling kit and they rub so anything over 33s is basically impossible w/o cutting sheet metal as for the 6in kits fabtech says 315/70/17s IIRC which translates to 34.5/12/17s

and of course you have to take wheel offset/backspacing into consideration with all of this as well

hope that helped a bit!

Check out this thread to help give you an idea of an easy way to lift your new frontier and at a reasonable price! I think I'll be doing it in a couple of weeks.

I can confirm....spacers will not affect the ride. I think the handling improved... just feels better than nose down

Welcome to CF!

i would not go with a 20" wheel. they would make the ride worse regardless of what lift you get. i wouldnt go bigger than a 17" wheel.
^yeah.. 20" Toyo M/Ts will set ya back >$1600!

X2

The more sidewall the tire has (taller) the smoother ride is, I used to run 255/65R17 Bighorns before switching to Cooper STTs 285/70R17 and even that small increase from 65R17 to 70R17 made things better.

If you want the Readylift, get it at WWW.ANDYSAUTOSPORT.COM. The kit number is 69-4510 for $229.95. I received mine for $240.00 with shipping (from CA. to VA.). I had called them because there shipping was a little steep ($45) talked them down to $10 and received in 4 working days. Great company to deal with!!!! Putting my lift on in a couple of weeks.
