Hi,

I'm new here. I have a 2001 Frontier, manual transmission, about 153K miles. I attached a photo.

I fixed a bunch of things on in last 6 months, so it's running well. The ride is rough though, despite replacing shocks. I'm going to ask about that on the forums.

Perhaps springs were replaced? I ask cuz "rough" would not be how I'd have described my '00 XE's ride quality. Car-like or 'station wagon-esque' would have been more appropriate.

I did buy it used, but that was about 10 years ago. I didn't replace leaf springs, and I'm pretty sure the original owner didn't either. The roughness seems more in the front, and I don't think it was always this bad. I go over a small pothole and it hits hard and really rattles the truck. Seems like something isn't absorbing the shock the way it should.

Front sway bar attachment/bushings intact? Will cause a racket.

My '00 XE rode soft...even w/ sway bar intact. Guessing something isn't right from your description. I'm no suspension guru, so will defer from trouble shooting any further.

Post your question in the Gen 1 or 4-banger Lounge (assuming you're a 2.4 4-cyl) for better readership.
