Hi, my name is Matt and i just figured i'd join up here to maybe find some good how to threads. Been doing a little work on my mom's frontier lately and i absolutely despise it. I loved the truck when it was new, but now, 10 years later, i hate it. Its a white 2000 crewcab SE with a bed cover on it, has ~70k miles.

heh, working on it. I drive a luxury car so driving a truck just isn't that great for me.

I had an issue with the thermo switch inside the cab last summer, got that fixed thanks to google + a forum(unsure which it was).

Now i have a slightly larger issue and still am not to sure of the entire situation. I was changing the spark plugs on it and i got the left side(easy three) and proceeded to do the right side(harder three). I fought the spark plug boot in the middle of the intake mani for a solid 10 minutes and finally got it out.

As i put the socket/extension down in the hole i could not get the socket over the hex on the plug. I look down in the hole with a flashlight and the spark plug valley/hole is filled with dirt and a combination of coolant. :censor: Looks like i will have to remove the intake manifold to get it dug out and find the cause of the leak.

Neither of the two driver's side windows work either. The rear door doesn't work at all and the driver's door rolls down but wont roll back up.

Welcome, I hope the great info found here will get your Moms truck corrected. What luxury car are you driving?

I see you're a Volvo family. I'm partial to Nissan and am on my 13th.

Volvo's make nice cars, fast, solid, safe, tanks. Not sure what is going to happen to Saab, so the Sweeds/Norgs might just have to settle for a Volvo only :)

Sorry you ran into issues with the plugs. My 1st car was a 240 (old skool) volvo. I worked on that car every 4k miles.

Atleast it only took you 10 mins for that plug. Try pulling some on a V6 in some of the Fords, where 3 were up against the firewall and required hours of labor just to get to them.

Keep helping out your mom, that truck will never leave her on the side of the road. Good man for doing the main on it.

yup, been a volvo person since i started driving, this will probably be my last one though. Next car will have a LS engine in it :)

I only got three of the plugs done and I'm going to have to stop by the parts store and pick up an upper intake manifold gasket and maybe a throttle body gasket before i go after the rest.
