Hey all, My name is Powell and I'm looking forwarding to getting to know some of you on here and conversing about the 2022 Frontier. I'm 29 years old and live in the South East. Just this past weekend I was able to purchase a 2022 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X. I'm a long time Nissan owner, my first car was a 2000 Xterra, in 2018 I purchased a 2015 Xterra and on 5/31 I was involved in an accident totaling the truck. An elder lady decided to take a left turn on flashing yellow as I was going through an intersection. Very sad this truck was totaled, enjoyed driving it on a daily basis. I've owned nothing but Xterras and if I could I'd be more than happy to purchase an updated if they ever re-released it. 🤞

I was looking at getting into a 2022 ZR2 but they're being shipped with missing parts and hard to fine, I also wasn't a fan of the interior and have never owned a Chevy. So I stuck with my guns and this weekend arranged a deal with my local dealer on a fully loaded PRO-4X. I'm pretty disappointed with what I had to pay due to dealer markups and addons but they did discount the trucks MSRP and markups for me which no other dealer in my state or other states would do so I purchased it. Just to let you all know how bad it is where I live a PRO-4X without the premium and convenience package was selling for $56,000 before tax at the dealer closest to me.

I've owned the truck for only a day so far, right at 200 miles but I got to say I really do enjoy the truck so far. My ONLY complaint is the stance of the truck & clearance from factory. This was a big reason I was interested in a Colorado ZR2.. It just sits way too low. My first mods will be a 4" lift, 33s and a roof rack.

With that being said, hey! Looking forward to posting my build as well as following many of your builds!

Welcome!

Very nice truck!

I think you will be happy with it. The truck will be more than capable to do just about anything you want.

As far as the mark ups, I agree a real PITA. With my S model the dealer I made take them off and all was well, then when I signed the paperwork they changed a 6 to a 9 and I did not catch it, so I payed $3K more than what I should have, which was a mistake on my part for not paying attention.

When I brought this up they said I already signed and would not change it. So I started researching the dealership, low and behold there was a current class action lawsuit on these same business practices!

So I filed my case and should be getting that money back. I encourage to do some research to see what you find. You just might be surprised!

Luckily I didn't have any funny business like that when it came to the paper work and out the door price. However, I did have to pay nearly $3,000 extra on a "package" aka just a markup for essentially two free oil changes, nitrogen in the tires, key replacement, tint etc... which was mandatory. All it was is a markup, but you get something out of it. Every other Nissan dealer in the state had much worse markups without anything for your money.. crazy how Nissan is getting away with it. At least when it came to the ZR2 I was able to find two dealers in my state with zero markups on them. Hopefully I made the right choice!

Actually the class action lawsuit here in AZ is for the same exact thing over mark ups on window tint, nitrogen, and all that other stuff. My situation was kind of unique, but the state AG excepted my case.

The dealer tried charging $500 for the Nitrogen. $899 for the window tint that came from the factory, and $595 paint protection.

Here is the link to a class action lawsuit covering the very things you are talking about in AZ.

Oh wow, would love to get a class action lawsuit here in GA where I live regarding this. Would pay for my lift and new tires getting that 3k back! Thank you for this information!

Nissan isn’t getting away with anything. The shady-azz dealers are. And they’ll continue to as long as people keep paying it.
Starting to see a lot of these trucks sit on the lot longer and longer as people get tired of the bloated prices. Ford Maverick is a good example...20k truck that is priced online and on the lot for 40k. Couple months back, they were selling as fast as they posted 'em. Now you see 15-20 in inventory sitting...hopefully folks are wising up. Short-sighted move by the dealers...they're gonna lose a ton of business downstream as people continue to do their research and take their business elsewhere.

When I installed the fog light kit I discovered the truck was pre-wired for it. I looked around and found several other plugs so I'm wondering what else the truck is pre-wired for. I found plugs in front of the radiator, at the rear of the engine compartment and two under the left rear of the truck.

Mine is the S model. Does anyone know what these plugs would go to in other models?

Hate to break it to you, but class action suits often take years and the money that goes back to the class of victims are usually only a small portion of what they are owed.

I know BIG lesson learned. It is not all bad, they sent me free floor liners, wheel locks, first aid kit for free.

I just hope they don't pull a fast one on others..
