Firstly, I am not a big fan of truck and never had driven one until last week when I bought a used 2002 Nissan Frontier XE from a private seller. It has 2.4l engine with automatic tranny (4 speed I believed). The car has 58k miles on it, is very well maintained with record history, no deep scratches, no dents, very clean inside and out. New brakes and tires, too. I didn't even bother to test drive the truck before paying the seller! I just grabbed it like a bandit, though
Feels good to know I have a truck to use when buying furnitures or hardwares.
I changed oil and filter to start with my own DIY maintenance. Replaced the 2blown light bulb for the rear reg plate. Guessed the previous owner does not know they existed. Next on my list is to replace the Cabin Filter. I could have done that days ago but nearby Autozone ran out of stock.
Not sure if I am having problem with the tranny. 1st and 2nd gear is fine then shift to 3rd gear briefly and then jump to 4th gear, then crawls to speed. OD is working fine, I believed. If I floor it at 40mph, the 3rd gear kicks in.
Also, thinking of installing plastic Bed liner for looks and to prevent the bed from hard scratches. But after searching this forum, I changed my mind. Might be better off without it to prevent from rust build up.
Also, I am looking forward to install keyless entry and alarm system on top of the stock LoJack. I have a universal car alarm system taken from my salvaged car. Already ordered 2 universal door actuators and hopefully it fits.
Btw, I also replaced the stock Spark Plugs with Autolite AP3924.
