How far is too far? -please see my pics-

Hello all... Im new to the forum and I am aware that you all want to avoid repeat posts. With that being said, I know there is several threads regarding torsion bar adjustment, but I have been searching and reading through them and have not found exactly what I am looking for. Im hoping this thread will help me and others who need to see pictures and compare.

I bought a 2001 2wd XE 4cyl. The previous owner had installed an add-a-leaf and the rear of the truck was alot higher than the front. I hated the way it looked, so I began changing things to fix the issue.

In the rear... I have removed what I believe was the add-a-leaf, leaving only what I believe to be the OEM leafs.

In the front... I have adjusted the torsion bars a bit in order to bring the front up in an attempt to obtain a more level stance.

The stance is looking better, but the rear is still a lot higher than the front.

What I need... pictures of your stock rear leafs in order to make sure it matches what is on my truck. I also need pictures from you all who have adjusted your torsion bars to raise the front (bump stop to lower control arm picture and the adjuster nut and bolt picture) so that I can see how much further up I can go.

Does it look like I can safely go higher? I do not know how far is too far.

So please take a look at my pictures to see what angles Im looking for and if you all think I can go higher. The side view of the truck is what it looks like now after doing everything I stated above.

Now climb under your trucks and bust out your photography skills.

And yes, I already know I need new sway bar end link bushings.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks butterman24 that is exactly what I was looking for. The mystery continues I guess. My leafs look like yours and my torsion bars are adjusted very close to the way yours are. Stll the rear of my truck is high. I appreciate the pics.

Your welcome. Sorry that I don't have any helpful info to assist you. Are your front shocks in good condition? Some new ones might help if not.

What does the upper control arm look like. How much before I hit the UCA (drop) bump stop. Looks like you can crank a little higher. Also know that the torsion bar is held in place by a set of splines. You can remove the t-bar from the end piece and reindex the bar for MORE preload. But that will typically result in a poor ride unless you upgrade the t-bar to a thicker unit.

You can also get a ball joint spacer that will gain you a little bit of height relatively cheap.
