I have a Curt 2 inch receiver hitch on my Frontier. I put it on just to use my bike rack and now decided to wire the truck for trailer lights. I ordered the 7-pin Nissan wiring harness, not realizing that the bracket for mounting the end of the harness is actually part of the Nissan hitch. I went to the shop where I bought the hitch and none of their mounting brackets work because of the screwy end on the Nissan harness. I could take the harness back to the dealer, but I need it wired by next Sat. for sure for a trip I'm taking.
Any advice on how to mount this thing? I considered the bumper mod, but I can't take the end off the harness.

I bought a generic metal mount from autozone. I cut the bottom half of the metal off. A little grinding of the plastic on the harness let it slide in. You can either redrill for the mounting screws or do what I did.. JB Kwik Weld and use it to attach. Its easy to mold and looks good. OR you can buy just a generic 7 pin from the store and remount the wires from the harness to the new recepticle....OR do the bumper hole thingy

I'll give the generic mount a try. I don't want to bumper mount it and I wasn't thrilled about cutting the wires off and putting a new end on after I went to the trouble of buying th 7 pin in the first place. I'll give that a shot tomorrow.
