It's a finger-print reader. Place your right thumb on the pad and you can start the engine.

I park in a parking garage for work...lots of speed bumps..this really helps keep the key clank down!

Ideally its best to have no other or very limited quantities of keys in a ring as it wears out the switch earlier.

Better there than not. My Tacoma's ignition was idiotic, maybe 1" from my knee. Nice having the fob bounce against my knee constantly. Not.

Be glad you have it! I don't on my '06 Pathfinder and have to listen to the keys clacking against the finisher all the time!

That would be a great idea, RV place first stuck it under ignition, was totally hitting it trying to use the gas pedal. I don't like where I put it but at least I'm not hitting it constantly with my shin. I'll have to look into cutting a hole out for it.

All I have is truck key and remote on mine, other keys stay in pocket for that reason. I'm gonna do the Rogue key swap before too long, then it'll never be an issue ?

Thanks! Funny thing, it's totally useless and unnecessary when the truck is pointed up a cliff. Go figure. Works great coming down them though ::grin::
