I wanted an aux jack in my 05 NISMO Frontier King Cab, so thats what I did. Very easy to install, took about an hour. The hardest part was deciding where to mount it and place the components.

Here is the finished result:

This is the product that I purchased
Amazon.com: Scosche FM-MOD02 FM Modulator for iPod, Satellite Radio or Portable Music Player:…

I used an ignition switched 12v wire on the radio (green/black wire in upper corner) for the hot wire, and a grounding point on the frame where the radio unit bolts into for the ground. The only thing I needed to buy in additon to the kit was an 18-22 gauge wire tap since I didn't have any.

First impressions are awesome! Sound quality is great and I will definitely give this alot of use as the years come :)

So does this plug into your headunit? It looks pretty cool, I have a headunit that had an aux outlet but the plugin broke inside of the outlet, and wanted to keep using my ipod.

Yea your best bet is to go ahead and replace the aux outlet. Not too difficult to do. Radioshack should have all the parts you would need.

My radio is the stock one without an aux jack. All I do is flip the switch and tune to 87.9. It sends the signal DIRECTLY to the radio through a wire, unlike an FM Transmitter that sends it wirelessly, so it sounds just as good as a CD

antenna reception OK?

I installed Scosche FM modulator for my ipod (Scosche IPFMRDS) and now the reception is lousy. I first simply connected the two blue wires on the antenna adapters together. Then Crutchfield advised to supply 12 volts to the blue wires. That made no difference.

Can you describe your antenna splicing situation? thanks, Jim

Blue wires? All i know is for me I disconnected the factory antenna plug on the back of the head unit, plugged it into one outlet on the kit, then plugged the other end back into the head unit. I got power from an ignition activated wire on the headunit, and thats pretty much all i did! I didn't notice my reception change one bit and it sounds exactly how it did with no modulator in there.

Looks like you did a great job. I just put one of these in my 2010 Xterra S, and unfortunately, it sounds terrible.

When there is silence from the source, I can hear lots of static and squealing. Plus it doesn't get very loud, and it seems like all channels on the radio don't sound as good.

For power I jacked into the fuse panel (sideview mirrors) and for the ground I attached it to a screw going into the metal bar behind the glove box. I also left the blue wires alone (based upon what I read in this post and others)

What did I mess up?

Try a different ground.
