Kid is at that age to get his first car. Got a 1998 Frontier, base model, 4 banger, 2 wheel drive, manual. Not a lot of plans for her. He just needs something to drive as a first vehicle. Definitely going to clean it up, fix the stereo, maybe bucket seats, carpet and center console and switching to 00-04 front end or xterra front end. Definitely a little drop, probably just the spindle/blocks at first, would love to bag it, but out of our element on that right now. Damn truck is too high.

And sitting in the shop next to my toy, until he gets his license.

Congrats on your son's truck. I use to feel the same way about trucks, but now I want to lift everything I own, I'd lift my Wife's Altima if she'd let me. LOL

I'd love lifted trucks, would love to lift my '13 Pro-4x, but when it comes to small 2 wheel drives I'm good with slamming them. I like cars and 2wd trucks low, if it wasn't evident by the other car in the garage with the truck.

That's what we were aiming for, and luckily he wanted a manual. He figured in today's high school parking lots it would be a good theft deterrent.

That's a good truck. Mine is a 1995 with the same 4banger and is just about to hit 200,000 miles without any major repairs ever having been needed on it. Not the flashiest by any means but they just won't die. currently my niece is now driving it.

Yup, always been a fan of the KA24, why I put one in my Datsun. He's super excited, luckily we aren't looking at doing much to the truck other than driving it, but we have a few ideas.

1. Fix the radio, gave him my old h/u to replace the broken one, sadly the previous owners cut/tapped wires. And the truck didn't come with door speakers from the factory. It has the stock speakers wires to the sides of the truck, just not into the doors. So they taped speaker wire and ran it from the radio. So need to get our hands on the stock wiring that goes from the cab to the door.
2. Needs a tailgate.
3. He likes the idea of putting in carpet, bench seats and center console. I've heard the 01-04 stuff bolt right in, so looking to get our hands on that stuff.
4. Definitely wants to lower it.

And a good time for him to get underneath his truck and start learning it. He's sort of helped me change oil before, here is is under my Mazdaspeed 6 when he was 8/9 years old. But he did majority of the work this time.
