Hey guys, I'm new to the forum but have been following it for a bit. I recently bought a 2011 Nissan Frontier SV 4.0L V6 2X4. It's dark grey metallic and an extra cab. I have done a few rather inexpensive mods in the couple months of ownership, which I plan to make a separate thread on. I will post a link to that thread once it is posted. I'm 16 and this is my first vehicle. I love it so far, and plan to keep it for a long time.
Thanks,
Matt!

Welcome to the board Matt, enjoy your new ride and follow a couple simple rules!

1. Don't ever drink and drive!

2. Always buckle up!

PS. when I was your age I wish I could have afforded such a nice first car; mine was a 1983 Honda Civic CVCC with a 1.3 liter engine, manual transmission, manual windows/locks and NO A/C!

FYSA, I was sober but going to a field party at night out in the middle of no where (but people before me on the same road were drinking and driving while throwing their beer bottles out the windows) so on a turn doing the speed limit of the road (50 mph) I had 3 tires blow out...I counter steered into the slide but as the wheels lost all air, the rims dug into the pavement and caused the vehicle to flip 3.5 times ending upside down in the road (remember, I was sober at the time) and my date was buckled into her seat as well...

We both walked away almost totally unscathed; I cut my ankle crawling back into the upside down civic to retrieve my keys from the ignition and turn off the car because it was still running!

Morale of the story, be careful, be safe, have fun and listen to people who have great life experiences!

Thanks for the advice J&JPolangin, I appreciate the consideration and definitely won't be an idiot. That's a wild story, glad to hear you and your date made it out unharmed. It's funny, I actually read your thread this morning. Badass truck!

I had a bit of money saved up and picked the truck up for a steal, at only $7k from an A/C repair guy who owned a whole fleet of the same truck. It came with it's fair share of scratches, dings, and grime on the interior but nothing that a solid day of buffing, polishing and waxing couldn't take care of for the most part. As for the interior, I got in there with a carpet shampooer, shop-vac, and some elbow grease.

...Also... I need some help, the website won't let me post a new thread in the General Discussion category... any advice?
...I'm not exactly sure being new to the board as of Friday 2 Dec myself but I believe its your post count or a time limit...the first couple days I wasn't able to post to all areas of the forum either.

Great job on putting in the hard work to get the truck you wanted!

PS. that story was from 1986 when I just got my license::grin::

It seemed to work, not sure why. Wrote up a thread in the General Discussion but have no clue if it posted or not. I'm extremely unfamiliar with the layout of this forum, perhaps the thread has to be approved... not sure. I'll post a link once I figure it out.
