Hey guys maybe you can help me with a little problem I am having. I am currently putting my '01 3.3L frontier back together after replacing both head gaskets and once I started installing the timing belt I noticed that their is not a timing mark on the oil pump housing like the manual says their is. Has anyone one else ran into this problem and if so how did you overcome it. I have the OEM replacement belt that has the marks on it. If I line up the two cam gears and the crank gear to the belt and turn the crank 2 full revs one cam is 1/2 tooth off and the crank is who knows where because I have no mark to line it up with. Any help would be great.

You won't find one. It's not there.
What I did was bring #1 piston to top dead center and set the cams on their marks. This left my belt 1/2 tooth off, at the crank. I think I moved the crank clockwise (1/2 tooth) until the teeth lined up and installed the belt. Worked perfect.
That missing marked messed w/me, too. Just make sure the cams, distributer, and #1 piston are in the right place and you'll be ok.

How many miles on your engine? I think my head gaskets might be going south @ 165K.

I think I got it. I put the two cams on their marks and then used the marks on the belt to make sure the crank was correct. I downloaded the manual that someone posted on this site and found that the two cams need to have 40 teeth between the marks and the LH cam and the crank need to have 43 teeth between the marks. Setting the tension was pretty stupid though. I had to take the valve covers and the rocker arms off again to set the tension. This is the first time I have really worked on a nissan engine so its all new to me. I have had this thing apart for so long I have to keep finding pictures to remind me how everything goes back together. The engine had around 160K on the clock but I overheated it one night playing in a field and I'm sure that sped up the process. Thanks for the reply.
