[Spine Damage]

I recently put in a spindle lift on my truck and had the sway bar off while waiting for new bushings. Driving without the sway bar was fine, but when I put it back on I now hear a clunking sound especially when turning.

Is it possible to install the sway bar wrong. It felt like it could only go on one way? Could the sway bar be hitting the LCA? Is it just something normal after lifting?

I think you need longer swaybar end links to accommodate the spindle length.

And if so, how do I determine what length to set them at? I have a 4" spindle lift.

The lower control arm does not change its position when you add spindles, so longer end links are not necessary. Does it clunk when you turn the wheel when you are sitting still or only when you are driving.

It clunks when I'm driving over any bumps (I try to avoid speed bumps now which defeats the purpose of a truck) and also if I make 90 degree turns left or right from a stop sign. Going left produces louder clunking. I'll test from a stand still tomorrow morning and get back to you.

Have you tried looking under the truck with it running while someone cycled the wheel back and forth.
