I just got my 2010 SE KC 4x4 manual.
I already found out a lot of things here (rearview mirror, GPS tray, ....)

But I really miss the Map lights w sunglass storage on my truck :-(
The one (CC) I had as a demo had that.

The complete assy seems not to be too expensive. Has anyone done that before? Is there another bracket needed?
I guess the headliner will have to be cut, too.

Thanks.

I would suggest you check junk yards / ebay. Let us know if you succeed.

I will.

Like I said, the complete assy with sunglass storage, light and so on is available at online Nissan parts dealers. It's only 40 or 50 bucks.

I think I'll give it a try.

Has anybody removed the stock cabin/maplights? Difficult?

There are 2 metal clips towards the front that holds the tray in place. You'll need to find out if you have the clips above the headliner for the tray to attach to. If they are there then I'd say it's possible.

If there is a member in your city with the tray willing to help out, you can use his truck to make a template. Pull his tray off and see how everything attaches. Then you can use some trace paper and make a template to see where you would need to make your hole. Good luck!

There is a bracket you will have to purchase plus 4 mounting screws which hold the bracket to the roof cross beams. The map light assy clips into place in the bracket. There will probably be no harness to attach it to, as I had to make a wiring harness to make mine work. And yes, you will have to cut a hole in your head liner.

You did not happen to take any pics, did you? How much of a hassle was this to install? Reason I ask, is because I dont even have my truck yet. Not coming until February:censor: And I am already thinking about cutting a hole in the thing:crikey:

that is a perfect write up. I did mine a few years back. just make sure that you measure 3 times before you cut. if you screw up, the headliner is expensive to replace.
