I would check your owners manual. If you don't have one, you can download it for free off the web. Just Google it and you should be good.
Thanks dubie, was able to find a manual, in case anyone else is wondering....

Manual transmission gear oil KA24DE 4x2 4-1/4 pt API GL-4*1 Viscosity SAE 75W-90 only

Amsoil, pennzoil and some others make a fluid that will work with the api rating, 3 quarts would be plenty for a change.
Amsoil Manual tranny oil works great in my 04.
These trannys like GL4 ONLY oils.
I would NOT use a multispec oil that meets specs for GL3 GL4, and GL5.

Amsoil 75w90 GL4 and Nissans own 75w85 GL4 work great.
Amsoils price is similar ,and its probably better.
I run the amsoil synthetic gl-4 75w90 as well. It is great.. smooth shifting and the peace of mind.
any legit gl4 is expensive. I just bought nissan's own gl4 at 5 bucks a quart cant beat it.
