Just got my truck back from my daughter who borrowed it for the week and 4 years later she finally returns it. It has a few issues most of which I can take care of.

1st the air conditioning is ice cold, however it just stops sometimes and I don't know why. I checked the freon and it's good and pressure is good. What else can I check?

2nd there is a lighting issue on the ac panel. The back lighting behind the fan switch is dark. Is there a really tiny light bulb I can replace or do I have to replace the whole panel?

Thanks

When you say the A/C "stops", you're just getting ambient air temp out of the vents? Do you know if the compressor is kicking on when this happens? If not, could be a relay that is sticking intermittently preventing the system from starting. If you are sometimes getting cold air, Freon level is probably OK. I haven't delved too deeply into our Frontier yet since it's fairly new, but relays are often found in the underhood fuse box in a lot of vehicles. The owner's manual often has a diagram of which relay belongs to which system.

Backlighting of dash panels is usually lit by small bulbs. It probably just burned out.
