I recently added a 28” single row light bar. Very bright and surprisingly doesn’t get that much light cutoff behind the grill. Installed using self tapping hex screws on the bumper support brackets.

What light bar did you use?

I went with a “LightFox” from Amazon (no harness, but easy to find on amazon as well) and pretty good performance for the price. I could have gone with a double row, but I didn’t want to disrupt cooling too much, BUT if I were to do it again, double row for sure.

I’m a big fan of Rigid and it’s performance, but unfortunately they don’t make a size that would fit into our grills.

Looks great! I've noticed that putting light bars behind the grill seems to be a trend, especially with newer Toyotas. Does anyone here know why? I'd imagine it's a theft deterrent, which is great in CA because criminals are basically a protected class here. It's also a clean, unique look IMHO. Maybe I answered my own question; just curious what others think.

Thanks! I did it because it’s a cleaner look and light output is still great for trails/unpaved road at night.

I live in Los Angeles, so nice to keep the protected class off my light bar. 🤣

Looking at doing this myself. Any install tips. Did you have to do any other alterations other than screwing the light bar in place. Any info appreciated.

The best advice is to measure and get a light bar that fits exactly in place. Other than that, it’s pretty straightforward. Post pics when you’re finished.
