Ok so my Shrockworks rear should be arriving today. Haven't seen it yet but in looking over old posts on forums here and on xterra, it seems they throw in their own aftermarket style of license plate lights which look smegging hideous. Half globey chromed up things that look like they got pulled off of a car from the 50's. Would fit well on a vehicle like that, definitely not on my zero-chrome truck.

I want to swap the OEM license plate lights to the new shrockworks bumper, both for superior aesthetics as well as not wanting to start splicing into the electrical system of a vehicle that's only 2 months old just to wire up something aftermarket.

From what I read, the Shrockworks bumpers are not making their holes large enough for the OEM lights on these later year 2nd Gens. Has anyone swapped to this bumper in the past couple years and had any hands on experience with this? I really do not want to have to go and drill out these holes to be large enough to fit the OEM lights when it's brand new and has a solid powder coat to it...

I know if I have an issue with the license plate lights, I can expect issues getting the stock sonar sensors out of the stock bumper and into the Shrock as well. Unfortunately nobody seems to have shown THAT particular part in any how-to's on this bumper in the forums as of yet. Once again ideally I would expect to pop em out and just pop em into the new one. I love being surprised on a daily basis at work by how things you expect just aren't and they make life difficult and interesting.

Thanks, that's basically what I wanted to know. That it can be done.

Well it seems it's all irrelevant as I cannot use the bumper. They sent me the wrong bumper completely. Will be calling them tomorrow to figure out how to send this thing back. Don't even need to pull it out of the box I can see quite clearly that the 4 sonar holes are not there. Not what I paid for.

Now I'm up the creek as I need to get a tow hitch added to the truck in less than a week to tow the dive boat to the keys for the vacation...

Well I would like to point out, just for anyone who has read this thread that I called Shrockworks and talked to Mark. They verified that indeed it was a mistake and they are going to make everything alright and swap the bumper out. That impresses me considering how big this thing is, so double shipping is not cheap on their end.

I just don't want anyone to get the idea that I was trying to give them a bad review in any way. They worked hard on a tight deadline to get me the bumper and I was impressed, it just didn't have the silly holes cut was all, and they are willing to fix that.

And thanks Bob, I would take you up on that aside from that being an entire day I'd have to take to head to Vero. I have too much work to do on the dive boat with my brother in the coming days, can't take any time off. We'll just have to let his Toyota kill itself again towing that boat.
