Anyone here have a Leer 700 series hard shell tonneau?
I just bought a used one for my 2004 Frontier and I'm trying to verify what I may be missing. It's got the side rails with attached clamps, and the rails do have what looks like glued-on thin rubber strips to protect the bed's paint, but I did not get any heavier rubber strips that would be on top of the bed sides, where the tonneau would come in contact with it. There is a rubber strip around the perimeter of the tonneau itself, is that all it's supposed to have?
Lastly, I got one black, aluminum hinged clamp with a bolt that runs through it, not sure if that's needed or how many needed.
This tonneau was bought back in 2003, used for a very short time, then removed and stored. It's a little different than the current 700 series models. I got a great deal on it, just have to get it painted to match in the spring.
Thanks!

Thanks upflying! Excellent idea to check youtube. This particular video was for a truck with a rail system, so not very accurate for my situation, but I will take your advice to do a search on youtube.
Thanks again.

Thanks upflying for the YouTube link. I ran in to similar issue where I got a used 5’ leer 700 for my 2019 frontier. I believe I’m only missing the clamps for the track system. View attachment 357406

I hope these help.

The rails that clamp to the bed only have a thin piece of rubber to protect the bed rail. The underside of the tonneau is carpeted and does not even rest on the rails, hence the adjustable standoff on each side.

Thank you NDFrontierOwner.
By the way, do you have to remove the plastic trim running along the bed? I do know that the tailgate cap has to be removed.

No, you can set it right on the top plastic side rails. On my 2010 I still have the tailgate cap as well. I'm not sure when it was redesigned with the wing or lip whatever you want to call it.

Final got around to putting the cover before the storm we are expected to get. I noticed that even after bottoming out the stoppers I still had a decent size gap between the Nissan logo and tonneau cover. How much clearance do you have between the tonneau cover and the Nissan logo?
