Just wanted to know if anyone has successfully swapped the dash lights with LEDs in a 03 or 04 Frontier. I know someone did this mod with the earlier Frontiers and someone also did it with the 2nd gen Frontier, but I can't seem to find someone who has done it with a 03-04. I am hoping it just a plug and play kind of swap like the earlier Frontier.

Thanks

You dont have to search anymore.
I did this last Monday.

The instructions for how to do it is the same as Bow did in this
Dash LED/Climate Control Install: D22 Frontier Part I & II - TexasNissans.com

But for ours, there are only 3 bulbs needed for the main speedo, rpm, and gas and temp gauge lighting.

I would recommend the 360 degree 74 LEDs from SuperBrightLEDs.com.
#74-xHP3 LED CAR BULB Specifications

Dont get the White ones because they turn out a bit blueish purple.
I want to try the "warm white" ones because I just want a brighter OEM look.

I also have noticed that the RedLine on the RPMs meter is a bit faded out with the white ones because of the blue leds.

Thank you very much! I think i am going to do blue leds, what do you think? Also, did you have to solder as well? No plug and play? PICS?

alabama_man, Blue would be cool. No soldering involved, just get behind the gauge cluster and you'll see three holes where you twist the bulb socket out. You will have to tweak the sockets like BOW did so that the bulb fits snug.

Thanks Devious1, yeah when I trade my truck for an 05+ Xterra, I'm going to want to swap the LEDs, but its going to be a pain to actually have to solder the LEDs in.

Looks Awesome!

Ok, so I finally got my lights in yesterday, but since I had vertical blinds to hang, I did not get a chance to put them in. First thing this morning though I dived right in. They look very good, the only thing I have a problem with is the brightness of the odometer. It is pretty dim, but maybe at night it will still be bright enough to see. I don't stare at it all the time anyway lol. Well, as promised, here are the pics of my fronty's new lights...

It was better at night, the blue is pretty bright. I am no camera man either, so the pix doesnt really do it justice lol.
